Rochelle Jerrum-Dore

Rochelle Jerrum-Dore is a singer songwriter from East Sussex who writes and performs a range of songs. She spends a lot of time listening to different styles of music to inspire her writing. Vocals is her main instrument and she has successfully achieved a grade 6 in musical theatre with her skills. Singing is something she has done since the age of 6 and has slowly developed her skills throughout the years.

Abigail Webb

Abi Webb is a singer-songwriter from Kent that is musically influenced by Adele and Taylor Swift. Vocals are her main instrument and alongside her studies in Music BTEC, have taken Vocal Exams for the last 5 years, most recently achieving a Distinction Grade in her Grade 5 Exam. She started performing to an audience at the age of 14 but has been singing from the age of 10. She wishes to continue performing to an audience and is excited to be recording her original songs for the first time.

James Dickens-Crispe

James Dickens-Crispe is 18 years old and is a talented young man that specializes in playing piano. He’s been playing piano for 7 years and can also play guitar. He’s played in numerous performances in the past and along side his music studies, he’s a Level 3 Production Arts student. He’s been learning the guitar to try and improve his skills and started playing 2 years ago. He’s always been interested in music since a young age and wishes to pursue it further.

Ellen Lyward

Ellen is a young singer-songwriter from East Sussex who dabbles in opera and classical singing. She first picked up an instrument at the age of 7 when she started violin lessons, and continued them for 10 years and achieved a high grade 6, although vocals are her main instrument now. She has taught herself her way around a piano and is confident in picking up a guitar to accompany herself or others. Ellen aspires to work in the music business industry, working for a label such as Atlantic or Sony, while using her vocal talents on the side. 

Charlie Evans-Rouse

Charlie is an energetic performer who sings, plays piano and focuses in musical theatre/Disney. Playing parts from lions to American women. He's now writing music in styles of popular musicals and Disney movies. He is going on to work on his degree in Music and Musical Theatre at the university of Chichester.

Maria Ezobi

Maria Ezobi is a singer songwriter, guitarist, pianist, bassist and a filmmaker. She is in a duo band called LUMA and is going to the L.A campus of New York Film Academy in September to study producing. She has also achived grade 3 in piano.

Abbie Donald

Abbie Donald was born in a galaxy far, far away (aka Ashford, Kent). She has been playing guitar and piano for 6 years and has performed her original songs around Rye and Ashford for 4 years. She is currently developing her vocal and harmony singing skills and is excited to be recording her originals professionally for the first time. And yes, she is also a keen Star Wars fan. May the force be with you.

Lucie Eckersley

Lucie Eckersley is a multi talented artist and musician, playing guitar and ukulele as well as singing lead and harmony vocals. Her musical taste is alternative – her favourite bands are Twenty One Pilots and Panic! At The Disco. She is a found member of LUMA, an acoustic duo who have performed around Bexhill, Hastings and as part of the Rye Festival at the Milligan Theatre.

David Swarbrick

David Swarbrick is a year 13 music, acting and creative media student. He has been playing music since the age of 5, his first instrument being Violin. His main instruments currently are piano, Wurlitzer organ, guitar and bass. Some of his main musical influences include Matt Bellamy, Thom Yorke, Yann Tiersen and Sondre Lerche. David is also keen filmmaker and would like to pursue a career in that industry. He has also composed music for different films including his own work and an advert for Rye Castle Museum. Aside from his subjects, David also enjoys cycling, camping, travelling, going to Heavy metal gigs and collecting vinyl records. He is slightly obsessed with Doctor Who and the band Muse.

Tommy Ludford

Tommy Ludford is already making waves in the international music industry as an acoustic/rap singer-songwriter and producer. After recently signing with Canadian label, Jack Kitty Records, he released two singles, one of which, ‘Silly Mind’, hit 12th in the Canadian Hip-Hop charts on Tradiio.com. His EP, Incognitowas released on February 29, 2016.

James Austen

James Austen is a talented young drummer who has taken part in a variety of high profile concerts while at Rye Studio, including performing at the Milligan Theatre as part of the Rye Arts Festival in 2015. James recently gained a place on the Artist Development Diploma in Modern Music course at BIMM Brighton. BIMM drum graduates have gone on to work with the likes of Will Young, Westlife, Ladyhawke and Paolo Nutini, so we have high hopes for James in his careeras a professional drummer!

Dominic Buxton

Dominic Buxton is a highly talented year 12 Music student. Since coming to Rye Studio last year, he has impressed everyone there with his skills as a vocalist. He has been learning about music technology, which is helping him to hone his skills as a songwriter. He has demonstrated an especially strong talent for lyric writing.

Charlotte Tingley

Charlotte Tingley is a singer songwriter from East Sussex who writes and performs acoustic folk and pop. She spends a lot of time writing and listening to many different styles of music; influences from Adele, Taylor Swift, and many more. Guitar is her main instrument for nearly all of her performances with an occasional song or two on the Piano or ukulele. Alongside her Music studies (which she hopes to continue developing on a vocals course starting at the end of this summer). Performing has been something she has done since she was 8 years old and only in the last 2 years started to perform her originals.

Heidi Berry

Widely considered a ‘musician’s musician’, Berry was born in Boston, USA into a family of actors, artists and musicians and moved to London when Berry was still a teenager. In the late 80s and 90s, she was signed to two of the hippest British indie labels, Creation Records (Oasis) and 4AD (Pixies), releasing 5 solo albums. 4AD released a Heidi Berry anthology, Pomegranate in 2001.

 

Berry has toured extensively in the UK, Europe and the USA. She provided guest vocals for legendary artistsThis Mortal Coil, Breathless and Spear of Destiny. She has composed soundtracks for two BBC documentaries. 2014 saw the release of Lost Girls, a collaborative with Patrick Fitzgerald (Kitchens of Distinction). Her three 4AD albums are due for re-release in summer 2016, with new artwork by 4AD designer, Chris BIgg. A new solo album is in the pipeline for 2017.

 

Berry currently resides in South East England and lectures  in vocal performance and songwriting on the BA programme at BIMM Brighton – and also teaches on the BTEC music courses at Rye Studio.
